Getting around

By air

Oslo Airport Gardermoen is Norway’s main airport, catering for the majority of international arrivals.  SAS, Norwegian and Widerøe operate domestic flights in Norway.

By train

The Norwegian State Railways (NSB) has a well-developed network of tracks stretching from Kristiansand in the south to Bodø above the Arctic Circle. The Northern Railway runs between Trondheim and Bodø. On regional trains, the Minipris tickets offer good discounts, whatever the length of your journey (when Minipris seats are available). Minipris tickets can be purchased online and from ticket machines. Tickets must be bought at least one day before the date of travel.

By ferry

The Senja Ferries operate in Troms and Vesterålen in northern Norway.
Bjørklid Ferjerederi operates in Lyngen in northern Norway.

By coach

Nor-Way Bussekspress is the biggest coach operator in Norway, operating around 40 routes throughout Norway providing connections with intersecting bus routes and other forms of transport including trains and ferries.

By cruise

The long-established Hurtigruten (The Norwegian Coastal Voyage) sails from Bergen to Kirkenes in Finnmark. The journey Bergen - Kirkenes - Bergen takes 11 days. It is indeed "the world's most beautiful sea voyage". Departures are daily and there are frequent stops along the coast. The ships can accommodate cars, making it easy to combine the cruise with a holiday in different places ashore. Other itineraries also available.
